Mr Omar Mansaray

About

I am a Senior Lecturer in Mental Health nursing. I have almost 20 years of clinical and management experience working in mental health services in acute inpatient and community care with adult patients and with children and adolescents in hospital, community and educational settings.

I have competency in British Sign Language with substantial experience in the specialist field of mental health and deafness. I have also completed a variety of training in psycho-therapeutic models for working with mental health patients and their families.

In my teaching role I am a module leader for one of the first-year pre-registration mental health degree modules. I have had the opportunity to develop and deliver teaching materials across a wide range of nursing knowledge and skill areas not just within Mental Health but within Adult, Learning disabilities and Child branches too.

My specialist area of interest is in child and adolescent mental health particularly in the area of mental health and deafness and early language acquisition in early child development.
