Research

Since 2016, I addressed the European Commission's Directorate-General for Translation, in both Luxembourg and Brussels, on the pitfalls of legal translations between different legal families, providing advice on the Commission's E-Justice Portal. I made two TV appearances on the ‘Africa This Week' programme on IC Channel (Sky 806), providing an expert commentary on two ICC Cases (the Ruto and Bemba cases), and was invited in ‘The Report' programme on IC Channel (Sky 806) to comment on a report by the Office of the Prosecutor of the ICC regarding American military activities in Afghanistan. I gave a radio interview on the Saturday morning live programme (Voice of Islam radio) about the Rohingya crisis and ethnic cleansing in Burma.  I recently presented a paper on my PHD work on Constitutional Courts in African States at the Law and Society Annual Conference and at the FARO Series 'The legal transplant of the French Conseil constitutionnel in sub-Saharan French speaking African states: a case too often of constitutions without constitutionalism'.
