Dr Chris Hewer

About

I am currently Course Director for the MSc Psychology (Conversion Course) programme. After a  career in applied optics, I obtained two degrees in Psychology and continued with doctoral research in Social Psychology under the supervision of Professor Dame Glynis Breakwell at Surrey University. Since 2002, I have taught critical social psychology here in the Department of Psychology. I am interested in the intersection between history and social psychology and particularly the way that cultures/collectives remember and forget.
