I am a Senior Lecturer at Kingston University and Reader in Fine Art at the University of Gloucestershire teaching BA, MA and supervising seven PhDs. My external examining includes the Fine Art BA at Liverpool Hope University, Ecole Cantonal d'Art du Valais, Switzerland and, previously, the MFA at Bath Spa University. I have lectured widely at UAL Central Saint Martins, NCAD Dublin, Sligo School of Art, De Montfort University, Leeds University, Ruskin School of Art, Croydon College of Art and Design, City University, Exeter School of Art, UAL Wimbledon, Loughborough University, Royal College of Art, Royal Academy Schools, Sotheby's Institute, De Montfort University, Slade School of Art, New Creative Markets (EU Funded scheme with Space Studios, London) and University of Worcester. I've given conference papers at ICA, TATE Modern, Leeds Art Gallery, Henry Moore Institute and University of Gloucestershire and written for publications including Art Monthly and Art and Christianity Enquiry.

Research

My most recent solo exhibition was at Museum Haus Konstruktiv, Zurich. Since 2008 I have been developing projects based on research in to British Construction and Systems Art from the 1950s to 1970s initiated as a result of a Henry Moore Institute Fellowship. I have given papers for seminars at TATE, Leeds Art Gallery and Henry Moore Institute and public gallery talks on artists such as Raoul de Keyser [Whitechapel], Kenneth and Mary Martin, Laura Owens [Camden Arts Centre], Robert Mangold [Parasol Unit] and Norman Dilworth [Huddersfield Art Gallery]. I am currently working on two major public commissions in London with MAKE Architects & Rolfe Judd/Modus Operandi. I am represented by Hales Gallery, London and Galerie von Bartha, Basel and am currently Chair of the board of Tannery Arts London and on the advisory board of Drawing Room, London.

My PhD supervision and examination continues to be informed both by practice as artist/curator and active engagement in contemporary art discourse and its social impact. I am Reader in Fine Art at University of Gloucestershire as well as working at Kingston University. PhDs examined include Rahat Masud, Kingston University, Daniel Baker, RCA, Professor Brandon Taylor (practice based), University of Oxford, Eirini Boukla, Leeds University.Yoshiko Shimada, Kingston University and Onya McCausland, Slade School of Art.
